Who *owns* the condoms?
January 17th 2008 22:19
In a modern world where men and women can (almost) have the same jobs, own the same material goods and have just as a good a lifestyle as the other gender…when it comes to condoms, there’s still a good *debate* on who should *own* it.
Who does own it?
> the gentlemen
> the lady
> the one who doesn’t want to risk any thing or any one
> the planner
> the nymphomaniac/horn-bag
> the kinky one – who wants to make sure that the *play* involves flavours and glow-in-the-dark…to spice things up
> the responsible one…
> the philanderer...
Who?
Do we tend to (unconsciously) *label* the person with a handy pack of condoms?
What kind of presumptions...assumptions do you have of that person (...if any)?

Otherwise, I'd wait until we're both sure of where the relationship was going and had mutually decided upon birth control methods; after we were mutually assured there weren't any STD's to share. But that's just me.

And I am obviously limiting 'everybody' to one other person. Obviously. Lol.
But maybe the man should have more input, especially if in a new relationship, since he has to wear them and will probably know what kind is best for him, and fits him. After all, men wouldn't bring along a diaphragm for the ladies, even if they could!
Well, I hope not anyway!

Seriously I don't think it really matters. I think in today's world it's acceptable for a guy or a girl to carry around a condom or two with them just in case anything should happen. Better to be prepared for the unexpected instead of "expecting" something to happen 9 months later.

Be responsible no matter what others think. If someone judges you for having a condom whether you're a guy or a girl, then you shouldn't have sex with that person. Think about it.

I just think its smart to carry them. Everyone should. No judgements from me.

Almost good to be prepared, James! Thanks for popping in.
I'm not up for a debate, Norm
Good attitude, Fingertip Titans Unite! Nice to meet u.
<LOL>...funny, Michaelie -- and very true on most aspects! Check out my next post re. fit. It's sizes galore! ...and people thought shoe and bra shopping were challenging...!
Thanks for your view, Wayne. I guess key for most is 'better to be safe than sorry' ...in any scenario...

It's true isn't it James, re. the 'double standard...? Or is that too modern a thinking?
Thanks for your comment, Anon -- and it's certainly words to remember by. I've friends who've STDs, which luckily for them hasn't resulted in death (yet...) but it certainly serves to remind us that we're as responsible as the person we sleep with...
Kinky or not, you're the smart one, Kleonaptra. Thanks for sharing!
'Be prepared' is a good idea, Ash. Re. the moview...hmmm, got me thinking -- what would be apt for a 'boy slut'...?
