Weekends...
November 23rd 2007 07:30
In these modern days – of mobile phones with appointment reminders, and Blackberries for e-mail on-the-go – it seems like we’re getting bombarded with work and non-fun things all the time, leaving us with even less time to do the things we really want to be doing, and perhaps even less time with that special half/partner.
Couples I’ve talked to say the weekends are *sacred*, and blocked-off for time with each other. While some of the things these couples get up to may not sound too exciting, it is the time spent together that matters the most. In fact, most relationship therapists remind that relationships need to be nurtured and worked on, and doing things together is a positive step (regardless).
Here are some alternative *fertilizers* to nourish your relationship with this weekend:
De-clutter – Getting rid of unnecessary items around the love-nest can help create a sense of balance again within your self and your relationship. It helps to clear the air and space, and reminds us that material things…are at the end of the day only materials.
Have a Makeover – Now that the love-nest is clutter-free, spice it up with aromatherapy candles and oil-burners with lovely sensuous scents like the ancient aphrodisiac Sandalwood, sexy Ylang Ylang, or a sensual concoction of Neroli (2 drops), Rose (1 drop) and Mandarin (4 drops).
For the daring, perhaps paint a feature wall with a Feng-Shui colour (for love and relationships). Try a romantic pink, sensuous red…or a purifying white.
Dine – Time to nourish the heart and soul after all that hardwork. Feed your body, soul…and your partner with some ideas here. Home-made, takeaway or dining-out…the choices are endless in the number of cuisines you could try in your city.
How do you spend the weekend with your special half? What’s the best thing you both like doing?

I believe that nothing can be sacred unless we deem it so and then make it so.
