Top Romantic Love Scenes
September 30th 2008 04:15
Romantic love scenes in movies, some might say they’re cliché, corny or just bad. I think though, without love and romance –corny or not– this world might just be a cold hard place…
Here are a few snippets that I feel capture those sexy and/or romantic moments of love. You may not agree with me but I’m sure you’ll enjoy watching it all the same. Get the popcorn and Choc-tops ready... In no particular order some top romantic love scenes:
Romeo & Juliet (1996)
- The coy exchanges between Romeo and Juliet through the aquarium
- When he steals her away from the crowd and passionately kisses her
- The fluffy sheet scene…
An Affair to Remember (1957)
Love Actually (2003)
Pretty Woman (1990)
The kiss…because it was so *forbidden*
Rear Window (1954)
In the Mood for Love (2000)
I actually found the entire movie a romantic tragedy...
…and I‘m just absorbed by the love theme from it…
Monsoon Wedding (2001)
I love the pomp and pageantry, the vibrant colours and music of this film. This movie has several memorable scenes but my favourite is when the wedding planner (who’s secretly in love with the maid), secretly watches the maid trying on the bridal jewellery (at 1:25).
P.S I Love You (2007)
The I-can’t-sleep-without-you scene…
…and just for the heck of it – ‘cos the song appears to be stuck in my head… A *tragedy* I know...!
Music and Lyrics (2007)
p/s...I would’ve loved to put more on, but that would make this post way too long… Hope you enjoyed the session...

I've always been a 'sucker' for romantic love, and very often it has 'done me wrong'
but some of those movies, YES PLEASE and I still live in hope.

Thanks for the *treats* and for reminding me how much I love this stuff... nothing like a good chick flick once in a while to help me back up on my feet when the going is tough.

You and most of us, katyzzz. It's good for the soul though...
I agree, Cass. 'Love Actually' was great in so many different ways.

Thanks, Michaelie -- that's me...the eclectic one
Yea, I think that's my favourite part/story of the film too.
Glad you enjoyed the session, Lilla. Nothing like a good dose of chick flicks every now and then. Sure helps to make this world a *better* place

Gone With The Wind - when Rhett Butler walks off into the darkness, leaving Scarlett O'Hara for good.
Sweeney Todd - as he gazes at the body beneath him when Mrs Lovett opens the door to the firechamber-thingy
The Lake House - when Sandra Bullock is at the architecture firm with her fiancee, planning a renovation of her home, and learns about Keanu Reeves on Valentine's Day (or was it New Year's Day)
