The fuss with brawn
December 4th 2007 06:04
Mother Nature has made it as such that it is the *task* of the male species to attract the female species. A recent study suggests that muscles in men are like the elaborate tail feathers in male peacocks – they attract females looking for a virile mate.
The study found that muscular men were twice as likely to have had more than three sex partners than the less-built types. As a comparison, researchers had also asked women to look at six standardised silhouettes of men ranging from muscular to slender. The verdict: women were more physically attracted to brawny men, especially for a fling.
However when it came to finding a long-term partner, they tend to choose a regular man over one with huge biceps. Most women preferred a well-toned man who was more likely to commit than a muscle-bound man – who were perceived as more volatile, aggressive and dominant. The researchers concluded that while muscles make men sexier to women, they also make women more suspicious about the men’s intention/commitment.
Looking back, we (Elise, Sonia, Cat and I) think that this research has some weight, and of course looking at how Joe and his friends have a gym regime and a social calendar that are bursting at the seams, have us convinced that some muscle is quite nice…

Love Speaks
Hmmm yes, Michaelie...eyes and smile tells a lot about a person's mind and character -- totally agree! Especially eyes...
A bit of a dancer are you, Krystal? Nicely muscled legs would be a turn-on compared to chicken legs I suppose...
