Eau de Men's SWEAT...for Women's Sexual Arousal

Sweat in a bottle might just be the next best-selling cologne in the market! Well, more accurately, the smell of male sweat. After just 20 sniffs of the male chemical signal (androstadienone) found in men's sweat, women's arousal level (the hormone cortisol) shot up within approximately 15 minutes and remained high for up to an hour.


Researchers report that, consistent with previous research, the women experienced improved mood levels and higher sexual arousal - evidenced by increased blood pressure, heart rate...and breathing.

My friend Elise tells me that on most occasions, the smell of the healthy male running beside her at the gym is quite a turn-on - of course the cute bum in the shorts provides additional stimulation, she pants...

How much truth does the numerous researches on the male pheromones hold? Any anecdotal evidence to share?

hmm...quite frankly, men's sweat and the inevitable smell of BO that comes with it turns me off. I actually get turned on when my man smells like he'd just come out of a shower and brushed his teeth with minty toothpaste. Does that put me in the minority?

It's all about FRESH sweat. Like they've just been working hard doing something physical and manly and muscle rippling... Yep, works for me. I've always loved it. It's that musky man smell and it's delicious.

The smell of BO and bad breath is definitely a turn-off...but I reckon it's the initial smells of perspiration that was researched on -- that initial clammy feeling...

Mind u, Elise does not like that post-work-out smell...!

I stopped wearing cologne and deodorant years ago, preferring just to shower. It became really noticeable to me, now, that men put on too much fragrance. When my flatmate puts on cologne, the entire apartment smells.

Consequently, I also like it when girls don't wear any perfume. It's horrid stuff, unless used sparingly. Who wants to kiss a girl's neck and get slapped in the face by some shrieking floral stink?

The scent of boys (and to be honest, girls) has gotten me high for years. I can actually predict when a persons scent is going to be a tickler, just from the first sniff.

I believe utterly in pheremones.

My man and I have been together for years, and even if we're screaming at each other over something, if we get close enough to smell each other, thats it, fight over. Whenever we had to live apart and only communicated over the phone we fought constantly - until we saw each other, then it was hours in bed. Just sitting on the couch together smelling him is intoxicating. When I was saying goodbye as he left this weekend to see his dad I said "Did you leave me a shirt youve been wearing?"

Scent is sexy....

Oooo, Cibbuano...I know what u mean. I once had a date with a guy who I thought had showered himself with cologne. It was rather a turn-off than a turn-on. All through the night, that was all I could smell was...the COLOGNE... bleaaah...



Very interesting, Kelonaptra! I've never known anyone who was so in-tuned with pheromones. Even more interesting re. the 'tickler'...!
