"Oh *dear*, where's the...?"

Where is it??
We all know that women and men’s brains are wired differently, and work differently – but let’s not get into the science of it, and let’s talk about the basic everyday encounters that each of us might have with the other half of the human species.
I was talking to my friend Antsy on IM (instant messaging) yesterday, when suddenly she did a ‘grumpy face’ emoticon. She explained that her husband had just very casually walked into the room eating a new packet of gourmet snacks.
She: “Oh! You found it…!”
He: “Why, were these hidden?
She: “No, it’s at the usual place but if I had asked you to go get them, you wouldn’t have found them.”
He: “Well…I can be very determined, my dear…when I want to.”
Which then started our discussion on how a man (generally) can’t find anything when you wanted him to, even if it was right under his nose! Most of us probably have at some point lived with the other-half, and I’m sure you know what I mean.
When was the last time, you had to go find that new jar of peanut butter in the pantry? Or best yet example from my friend Cat – husband opens fridge and (almost immediately) asks, “Honey, where did you put the Vegemite?” Cat walks over to the fridge and in a second whips out the jar (which was right at the front of the shelf)!
So, is it merely a case of ‘if he wants to, he CAN find it’…or is it just that women and men are wired so differently that we see things in different places – literally…

If my husband is searching for something he needs, he can find it. But anything house, food, domestic-related, all I hear is 'have you seen the ....., Trace?'
I now stop answering, he can find it himself. But if I do answer, it has expletives in it....
Phew, what a relief it is to talk about it.
I like your suggestion, katyzzz.
