Would you insure your engagement and wedding rings?
August 29th 2008 04:26
For most people, the engagement ring and wedding rings are more than just a piece of jewellery. Generally it is seen as a symbol of a commitment, a union of love, marriage…and probably however you want it to symbolise.
A previous post about engagement rings drew many interesting (and practical) thoughts from many of you. *Sadly* just as many people are not as practical as us –or perhaps we’re the queer ones
Anyway, I told you about that acquaintance with that (apparently) beautifully crafted four-C diamond ring – *apparently* because we still have yet to see it as it’s tucked away in a safe! Well, her dilemma now is whether to continue insuring it at more than $500 a year, especially since she doesn’t wear it.
That got me wondering, how many people out there have their rings insured. The few people I spoke to do actually have their rings insured – maybe because their respective rings are worth at about $10k (or more) each…!
Is your ring insured? At what price/value would you have it insured? How necessary is it to insure your engagement and wedding rings?

Mum's Word
Recently my brother's house was broken into and they took all the jewellery they could find.
Also, my sister in law also lost the diamond off her ring once before.
So absolutely definitely. It sucks that you can never get that ring back again,
Love & stuff
